Blogging

Hey, this blog dumping is kinda fun. Now I might begin to write too much in it. I was surprised to find 65 posts in here- a fantastic variety of subjects and levels of seriousness (unseriousness).

Plan to Buy My e-Book

RockParty

a novel by Bill Hines

Comes out in August

Likely price:  $2.99 on Kindle

RockParty: Inside Front Cover

Coming e-book in August

In a campaign for the U. S. presidency, a rogue third party with an absurd political agenda, capitalizes on voter disdain for the two major parties and makes believers of voters, politicians and the media.

When Americans realize their only choice for a U. S. president is between the two parties responsible for corrupt and ineffective government, a new third party emerges.  RockParty takes advantage of the voters' disgust with Republicans and Democrats, and makes an absurd strategy a viable reality.

By chance coincidence, the Rock Party candidate, Will Henry, reconnects with three high school buddies, who join the quest. One is a judge, one a pediatrician and one a business mogul.

RockParty is the story of a journey, of how seven people dissolve disbelief of the nation at every level along the way to the presidency, starting with themselves.

My yard is not a democracy.

More of a dictatorship.  I just want to fill in the cracks in the walkway.

It's time!

I attended the first annual Georgia Publishers Conference this past weekend.  It provided, for me, some much needed stimulation/motivation to complete the process of publishing a novel, which I wrote in eight months and have been editing, personally and through critique groups, for 2 1/2 years.

I asked AWC for an opinion of the Conference. They opted not to exhibit, and were not too positive.  To the contrary, the 30 one-hour workshops covered all forms of publishing, writing, editing and development, marketing and promotion, legal issues, cover designs, social media platforms, blogging, book reviews, and, inspiration.

If you wonder why I issued so many Linked-in invitations to connect, it is because the conference inspired me to expand my social media contacts and get serious about preparing to deal with agents and publishers.
