I attended the first annual
Georgia Publishers Conference this past weekend. It provided, for me,
some much needed stimulation/motivation to complete the process of publishing a
novel, which I wrote in eight months and have been editing, personally and
through critique groups, for 2 1/2 years.
I
asked AWC for an opinion of the Conference. They opted not to exhibit, and were
not too positive. To the contrary,
the 30 one-hour workshops covered all forms of publishing, writing, editing and
development, marketing and promotion, legal issues, cover designs, social media
platforms, blogging, book reviews, and, inspiration.
If you wonder why I issued
so many Linked-in invitations to connect, it is because the conference inspired
me to expand my social media contacts and get serious about preparing to deal
with agents and publishers.
